Max Hopes
Osteopath, strength & conditioning
Max is Limbr’s most experienced practitioner with over 11 years of experience. Max is not only an osteopath but a strength and conditioning coach and a university educator!
He completed a Masters of Osteopathy degree in London in 2012 and has since worked in the UK, Japan, Sydney and now Melbourne.
Max takes an active approach to managing pain and injuries, focusing on exercise, supplemented by osteopathic hands-on techniques, dry needling and taping. He places a big emphasis on listening to and understanding his patient’s story which he believes is fundamental to helping people with pain.
He tries to keep his patients going with their activities as much as possible and find ways to work around injuries while they recover as opposed to stopping completely unless it’s really necessary.
Max’s rehabilitation approach is very individualised – he will discuss with you what your goals are, establish where you are in relation to them right now through an assessment, and then look for ways to bridge the gap to get you back to doing the things you love and need to do.
Outside of work, Max keeps active by combining strength training with running. He also loves travelling and experiencing different cultures – he has been learning Japanese since 2019 when he was living there.
Being from the UK, his idea of footy involves typically a round ball – but as a lover of all sports, he has adopted Carlton in the AFL while still keeping tabs on Aston Villa in the EPL in England.
