Courtney Shaw
Osteopath, Clinical Pilates
Courtney’s passion for osteopathy stems from a life of netball, ballet and water skiing, and all the injuries that come with them. She worked as a sports trainer for VAFA Premier league football teams in Melbourne before moving overseas to further develop her skills in women’s health and paediatric osteopathy.
With more than four years of experience, Courtney has developed a passion for working with patients with acute and chronic pain, in particular; low back and neck pain, headaches, pre and post-natal patients, paediatrics and children. She uses a holistic approach with all patients and strives to find the source of your pain. Courtney has also completed a clinical Pilates course allowing her to guide you through your rehabilitation to improve your function and stability.
Courtney enjoys using a mixed approach to treatment depending on your needs, incorporating direct techniques like massage, joint articulation and manipulation, as well as indirect techniques in conjunction with exercise prescription.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys the outdoors, going camping or out for a hike with her partner and dog. She also doesn’t mind a cocktail or two with girlfriends on her days off!
Fun facts: Courtney can’t go a day without chocolate and she also drove across Canada in a minivan!
